We're appealing to people who want something different, but the world, on a whole, doesn't really embrace different things. This rejection is kind of what brought me and Nathan together.  We have been NTLS since we were 17 years old and probably still will be when we're 71 years old.  Much of our music is a collision between the conventions of niche and mainstream. The way we produce a song is kinda weird. Nathan usually starts spewing out all of these ideas and then I draw them up... like as actual pictures. For us, once we know what the song "looks" like, we just instantly know what it sounds like and so lyrics and producing the music just comes easy. "
